In order to be an effective teacher one must possess the ability to create an engaging, positive classroom that not only focuses on the major subjects but incorporate the arts as well. I feel that children learn in various different ways and incorporating different methods of effective instruction students will gain the knowledge they need to succeed. I will use new and innovative ways to instruct each and every child in the classroom. Teaching in an environment that possesses a positive energy as well as an active learning environment is the key to successful education. They will be able to incorporate what they learn each and every day in the classroom and apply it to everyday life.

Although I have been self employed for the last 6 years, I went back to school last year to add Science and Math for middle school to my certification. I passed the Praxis for both of those subjects spring of 2010. I was not able to get a full time teaching position this year. I went back to working for myself but would love to tutor. I have tutored for 3 years while I worked for Tryon Elementary school. I had great success with the students I worked with, in particular concerning math. I am very qualified to work in a tutoring capacity.
I believe in good classroom management and organized lesson plans. I set appropriate boundaries and expect the students to follow the rules that are set before them.
