I do not have a specific teaching style. Everyone is different, so one particular type of teaching style may not be as effective as another. In order to be effective, I think it is important to recognize the students strengths and weaknesses before embarking on a certain learning path.
I have a Bachelor's degree in History and an Associate's in Process Technology. I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society. I possess excellent math skills and took statistics in college. I enjoy helping others and feel I am a good fit for this position.

A Little Bit About Me...

Because science is a "hands-on" subject, I feel it is extremely important to use demonstrations, examples that are relevant to every-day life, experiments and anything else that will help students understand the world around them. I have been told that I have an "out-of-the-box" approach to learning, but have found it to be successful with the majority of students. Classroom discussions are utilized more often then lectures, because when a student plays an active role in their education, they learn more.
Over the past 12 years, I have worked in both the private and public sectors of the education community. I have taught grades 7-12 in all areas of science. With a BS in Architecture I have a strong background in math and science and I have always had a strong determination to excel in my education. Also while pursuing my degree I served as a teacher's assistant for multiple courses in my discipline. I also was a department tutor for three of my four years in college and I often worked with individuals or groups with various subjects that they were struggling with. My strengths are mathematics, sciences (especially strong in physics), the arts and structural mathematics.
