I have always had an interest in tutoring, starting in Elementary school where I would leave during recess in the fourth and fifth grade to spend time in my past Kindergarten teacher's classroom. There I would read to students, reinforce the teachings lead by the teacher, and serve as a role model. During my middle school summers I would return to that classroom to provide aid for the summer school kindergarteners before they were able to enter the first grade. Upon entry into high school, I joined Project Understanding, a tutoring volunteer organization to serve children from low-income families who were falling behind in a classroom setting and needed some extra time and a different perspective to learn the material expected of them. Having graduated with honors from a top university, the greatest asset I offer comes from my real world teaching experience.
