I'll Teach your Student to Teach Him or Herself

I hate lecturing! I do! This is why my tutoring style is very interactive. I don't like talking AT a person, I prefer to have a conversation. My goal as a tutor is to make subjects interesting, and also to make sure they stick- so you can do well on exams. I also teach study skills in every session, so ideally you won't have to rely on me forever. I try to give students tools that they can use to teach them how to teach themselves- something they'll have to do if they're considering college.
I have worked as a tutor for 10 years in all subjects, especially focusing on ESL learners. As a voracious reader, I have always been interested in many subjects in the world, above and beyond what I have studied in school. I earned a bachelor's degree in English and a recent master's in international management with a focus on migrant education/bilingual education. I spent years working with faculty on books at the college level, helping them to tailor their work for nonreaders, for visual learners, and students whose interests are far different from their own bookish world. A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate, I've been very blessed to have received a degree in Business Communication. In college I learned how to become a better educator, and communicate with them on the highest level. Although, I tutor in all of the academic areas, I also enjoy helping my student appreciate the art of becoming a good writer, and thinkers.
