I have never believed in or practiced the lecture as a form of instruction. Rather I apply a program of hands-on repetition, a "walk me through it" approach whereby the student demonstrates what has been retained and understood and where we need to apply some more time. I continually review what has been learned so everything stays current and fresh in the mind. I have found that most students retain more when humor is interjected through the instruction period and how what has been learned is applied to every day life.
