A Little Bit About Me...

My experience is in teaching students at the college freshman level, but i also have mentored interns. My teaching style is a combination of hands on, sort of leading a student through a concept or process. I am an energetic, anecdotal, results-oriented type of teacher, and enjoy helping a student to become adept at problem-solving, or creative expression. My teaching style is quite organized, but also empathetic. I allow for students to use their various aptitudes and abilities to learn. For example, when a student normally presents a report to the class, that student reads from his notes. I had one student who was musically inclined and played her guitar to make her presentation. She used her musical skills quite effectively.

A Little Bit About Me...

Since my earliest childhood memories, I have been fascinated and intrigued by languages and cultures. Following my passion, I chose my majors in high-school to be English and French, engaging as much as possible in their cultures (e.g. exchange programs, penfriends, courses abroad). During those years, I simultaneously attended a music college for classical flute and made my first teaching experiences in teaching flute, as well as tutoring high school students in French, English and Latin. After my BA in Accounting and German Tax Law, I decided to pursue my dream of studying American Studies, German, German as a Foreign Language, and French, covering both culture, language/ literature, and linguistics. Through my position as Teaching Assistant at ASU, I have been able to share all that knowledge with my students, and I have gained valuable experience in teaching languages.
