My comments on tutoring Algebra II : Took the Honors Algebra 2 class in high school and received an A both semesters. Also tutored a student in Algebra 2.

I took 4 years of Honors and AP mathematics classes at Blue Valley North High School (I received A's in each of the classes). I also received a 5 on the AP Calculus AB test. Reviewing the practice tests, if available, is also key, as many teachers use only slightly modified versions for the real test. For more advanced students, or those wishing to earn the highest marks, I will design extra problems, both conceptual and mathematic based, to continue to challenge them. Growing up I was a very driven to get my masters in accounting. Once I graduated with my Bachelor of Science, I moved straight into getting my masters of business administration with a concentration in accounting. While getting working towards my masters I was a graduate assistant. During that time I worked in the accounting lab tutoring undergraduate students in their business classes. I like starting with the given information and stepping through the processes to solve a problem. Reminding them of, or even showing them, the rules, properties, and examples in the book. I normally try to find the method that best works with each pupil, then highlight on that. I also make sure not to do the work for the student. I will sometimes come up with a similar problem to work through so they can see what's really going on within the problem.
I have tutored Algebra through Calculus I and Elementary Statistics for the last three years. 1.5 years at both Wichita State University and Washburn University.
