A Little Bit About Me...

I earned a degree in biology with a minor in forensic Psychology. Although Biology was my major, I took math classes from Pre-calculus to differential equations although i did not need it but because I loved math. I am preparing to take my GACE certification, which is a licence to teach. GED is one of my top subjects! I have extensively tutored GED math for over eight years, both as part of a GED tutoring program and on my own. I have taught many students all of the GED math topics, from the basics such as arithmetic and fractions to the more advanced topics, such as algebra and geometry.

Math Tutor! Geometry, Algebra, Trigonometry!

My tutoring style is explaining the concept in the simplest possible terms and then practicing a few problems with the student. Then when I see the client has grasped the concept, I move on. I do not believe in rushing the student because I know how frustrating it is when one does not understand something.
I have tutored algebra 1 and 2, college algebra, intermediate algebra, pre-calculus, and geometry. My best subject is mathematics. On the SAT math section, I scored a 700 with the highest score being 800. When I was a freshman high school, I tutored students older than myself in subjects such as Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry. I usually start with a diagnostic test to concentrate on weaker areas then come up with a weekly plan focusing on those areas. After a lesson, I usually give worksheets and sometimes online exercises, depending on the subject, and use videos and games if applicable.
I have tutored and mentored students for more than five years in Algebra I & II, Trigonometry, Physics, Chemistry, English and ESL. I have a degree in Psychology and a certificate in TEFL.
