Experience Summary
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Marymount University. My cumulative GPA is 3.91/4.0, science and Math GPA 3.93/4.0. An Honor's student, Dean's list recipient every semester of my college years. I worked as a peer tutor, helping other college students while a student myself. Beyond that, I worked professionally as a tutor, with students from the Elementary school to college levels, in Math, Chemistry, Biology, Statistics, Writing, Test Prep, to name a few. I have worked as a Researcher with the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the Henry Jackson Foundation of Military Medicine, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, honing my skills in the sciences. As a Special Volunteer with the NCI, I wrote a 50 page scientific review and analysis on a certain kind of breast cancer.

Teaching Style
My focus in tutoring is on the student. I adapt myself to the learning styles of the student(s), building on their skills and talents. I recognize that some students retain information best by teaching to others what they learn immediately. So I avail them of that opportunity by encouraging them to actively be involved in making up notes, choosing homework questions and rephrasing content based on their understanding. To me, each tutoring session is about embracing my personal responsibility of helping a student take significant progressive steps toward his/her academic goals.
