In 2002 I went back to school to earn my bachelor's degree so I could continue on with my Masters. Two years later I graduated with my Master's of Education in Counseling. A situation came into play at the school and I was asked to "fill-in" for a 7th grade Language Art Teacher. She never returned and I taught the classes from October until the end of the school year. I have always wanted to teach. When I was a child I would round up the kids in my neighborhood and make them do lessons that I created. I do remember they did not like that. I went to college and earned a BS in Biology always knowing that I would eventually teach the sciences. I was an excellent student and have always found pride in myself on my ability to communicate with clearity. I have one year of tutoring experience at the k-12 level. My initial approach is to ascertain exactly where the student stands prior to starting any course work. Students can be and are easily frustrated with work that is either beyond their ability or more advanced. Frustration can be either eliminated or reduced when students have a better understanding of their work.
