As early as I can remember I have always wanted to have a degree that involved children. So i decided to go to college to become an Elementary School teacher. I graduated from Black Hawk College where I earned my associates degree. After completion of my associates I then transfered to Western Illinois University. I majored in Elementary Education K-9. I've worked as a tutor for over 2 years at Black Hawk College, at the same time obtaining an Associates Degree. Throughout those years I've encountered many special needs students and many bright students, tutoring in subjects ranging from English, Math, Social Studies, to Computer Science.
I believe the best way to learn is peer-to-peer learning. As an auto-didact I have the study skills necessary to regurgitate information as taught by the current institutional models. This is an uncreative and highly unnatural way to learn. There's a reason no major discovery was made in a classroom -- true innovation, discovery and learning is an organic process.
