As I grew older, I continually tutored my peers in a multitude of subjects, math being the prominent and my best subject. In my junior year of high school, I was personally selected to mentor and tutor at risk middle school aged children at the partnered junior high. I earned a Bachelors degree in Chemistry and a minor in Biochemistry ins 2007 from the University of Colorado. I attended the University of Hawaii briefly where I was a teaching assistant for freshman level general chemistry lab. I taught lab, prepared quizzes, tests, and oversaw the general safety of my students. I also during this same time worked in the tutorial room where students of all levels of chemistry could come in with questions regarding homework, quizzes, and questions prior to the exam. I believe in teaching by example. I know especially in chemistry, examples help see the proper technique and variables needed to solve the problem. After graduating in 1996, I opened my own tutoring service in Dickson, TN. I tutored individuals from public schools and home school in Math, Reading, and several other subjects needed until 2001. At this time I left Dickson and moved to Clarksville, TN and tutored with A+ Math tutoring intil 2006. Seeing the look and smile on the face of a student that finally grasps a concept, or realizes they have just read on their own for the first time, OH What a Feeling!!!
