I have been studying American Sign Language for almost 2 months now, and I am at a proficient level. I love Sign Language, it is a very interesting and unique language to learn. Almost a quarter of the world's population is deaf. Sign Language can be very useful in many ways. I look forward to helping you learn this amazing language.

Practice practice practice! Asl is not a language you can learn from a book. It is concept based and requires a lot of time.
I obtained my interpreting/transliterating degree from Columbus State Community a college in 1999, established my own interpreting agency one year later. I have been a professional interpreter for 15 years and I am nationally certified. I have interpreted in every situation imaginable and then some! I love what I do and I enjoy passing my knowledge on to practicum students from local colleges.

I grew up in Texas and attended Abilene Christian University for four years. This also included two summers in Mexico. I lack only one semester completing my BA in Spanish. However, I chose to marry a Canadian and instead of finishing my degree, I moved to Canada. Over the years, I have periodically used my Spanish while travelling to places such as Honduras and Panama. Having the chance to attend one of the largest universities in the world has truly allowed me to experience opportunties to influence young minds.
