Intervention Specialist - Tutor Grades K-12

I have taught at the primary and secondary grade level in all subject areas. I have been a substitute for two years and have worked within diverse school districts around Ohio. I hold a B.S degree with Latin Honors in Special Education K-12 and have taken various courses for reading specialist. I attended Ohio State University for two years and Ohio Dominican University. My comments on tutoring Elementary Math : Kindergarten-3rd

I have been a kindergarten teacher for the last two years at a private school. I teach on an excelerated curriculum, so I teach a 1st grade curriculum. I have also taught Pre-kindergarten on an accelerated curriculum. I am very comfortable teaching students on an excelerated pace. I am also able to differentiate lessons for students who are struggling in their academics and teach them the strategies to be successful in their learning!

I often use word games or riddles as rewards for good work. It motivates effort from my students and makes them listen more closely. With my esl students, I made sure to apply new words to their life in order to gain the most retention of the new vocabulary words.
