My comments on tutoring Statistics : Especially experienced explaining basic statistical concepts to students who typically struggle with math.

Patient and encouraging. I usually like to summarize the material and give a bit of context and work through an example. Then, I like to have the student work out an example independently and we go over it. While going over it, I asked them to explain the steps and their thought process. Generally, I like to ask the student(s) lots of questions so that I can see that they know what they're doing and why they're doing it.
During undergraduate, I tutored several of my classmates in different chemistry and math courses. Additionally, I've had the pleasure of being a teaching assistant for 2 years for undergraduate statistics.
