A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored non-professionally for some time. Doing so has provided me with experience with a variety of students ranging from the first grade level to college freshman. I cater accordingly to each level of student, always exercising patience and approaching topics from multiple angles. I understand that some students are visual, kinesthetic, or auditory learners, or a combination of all three. To gauge the students, I make sure every step in a given concept is clear - not by simply asking if the student understands, but also engaging that which they just learned.

After graduating with a 4.0 from the University of Oklahoma, I began my graduate work in mathematics. As a G.A., I had the experience of teaching and tutoring at the college level. I have had a wide range of teaching experiences. I have taught in the public school as well as private school. I have tutored children from the grades of kindergarten through fourth grade. I have taught overseas as well where the population was mainly Asian students.
I like the one on one aspect of tutoring. I enjoy teaching, but I really like tutoring because I get to know the child and am able to help him/her with his or her specific area of need. I like to make learning fun by playing learning games with the student. I am a Christian and I believe all children are unique and have their own abilities. I believe a child can accomplish anything to the best of their ability if he or she puts his or her all into it. I want to see children succeed and feel confident in who they are as a person.
