I am fascinated with the concept that the more senses you utilize in teaching the better the child learns and retains what was taught. Some children respond to verbal teaching, while others prefer visual teaching, or others like to interact with their environment (the hands on approach). Each child has their own language. I believe that a teacher must do whatever is necessary to reach the student so that he can learn. Learning should be fun and enjoyable! As a high school student, I tutored elementary and middle school students in their homes. In college, I tutored elementary age migrant children after school in english, math, and with homework studies. I also have three years experience in a public school system as a substitute teaching all grades in all subjects ranging from math and english to agriculture and special education.
