I like to determine my teaching style by first evaluating a child's current progress and learning style. Learning is a very individualized process, therefore, teaching must also be individual. I am a relaxed person, and I like to find a way to relate material to a child in a way that he/she will not only understand, but retain. Flash cards are great for some children, and other children will learn better with a pneumonic device, while still other learners will make up a song to remember the material.

Despite my lack of certification, I have always enjoyed working with children. I truly believe that a childs learning output is a reflection of the teachers in his/her life, whether parents, school teachers, or family. I am patient and having such a diverse background in the math and sciences makes it easy to teach through different approaches to convey information to students. I graduated from the Ohio State University with a Bachelor's Degree in German & History. I have studied abroad twice, and completed a summer semester at Bonn University prior to graduation. I am extremely passionate about history and foreign languages and spend a few weeks each summer abroad. I have been teaching piano for the past four years. I am responsible for teaching theory, history, and playing skills, as well as the preparation of my students for competitions.
