My comments on tutoring World History : Taken both high school and college level World History classes. Focus is on European History from Greek to post World War II.

I am currently a senior at Indiana Univeristy Kokomo. I will graduate in spring 2013 with a B.A. in Psychology and minors in Leadership Studies as well as International Studies/Relations. My college coursework has a focus on psychology but my degree requires me to have a very liberal education, as such, I have taken classes in english, history, sciences, economics, government, and many others. I am a student leader and have been for the past two years. I am currently Student Body President of IU Kokomo and represent over 3,000 students. Past leadership expereices include being psychology club treadurer and president, orientation leader, and student senator. I have supplemented my college education by working on a behavioral/mental health unit. I have also done research with one of IU Kokomo's psychology professors, and am currently a teaching assistant for another psychology professor.

I enjoy working with students of all ages, but I especially like middle school ages. All students learn in different ways, and I have used many techniques with public school students as well as with my own children. I believe everyone needs to have the skills to research and test out their ideas.
I taught learning disabled/emotionally handicapped middle school students for 7 years. I have about 3 years experience tutoring students of all ages. My public speaking class is extremely participatory, both so students can gain experience speaking in front of an audience and because this format seems to keep students more interested in the material. My experience teaching children in theatre was also very participatory. I believe that students learn best when they can understand a given concept from several different angles. I also believe that each student is different and that any teacher must tailor her lessons to the individual student's needs. This is especially true of one-on-one tutoring sessions.

A Little Bit About Me...

Since I was in high school I have been teaching my sisters to get their way around with Science/Math/English. Having always been driven to achieve academic success, I received all A's throughout middle school and high school and was one of my high school valedvictorians. I then received full tuition to the University of Evansville and continued my academic success.
