I am a determined, enthusiastic, and highly motivated person that enjoys being challenged and working with children. I take great pride in being a teacher and being part of a child’s life. I believe it takes more than a single individual to make a difference in the life of a child. In my experience working with children, I have seen the value, benefits and the importance of including other colleagues, administrators, parents, and the community into a child’s learning. I believe I'm quite a good teacher because I'm firmly committed to excellence in academic work, but I don't believe in being pedantic or dreary about it. My own interests are quite broad, and I think I'm quite good at finding ways to make academic subjects relevant and appealing to each student's particular experience and worldview. I'm proud to say that I always receive very positive student evaluations at the end of each semester. Students say that they find me knowledgeable, approachable and open to new ideas, and I try very hard to bring this attitude to every student that I teach.
I've taught Aesthetics, Critical Theory, Painting and Drawing at various schools on the East Coast.
