How do I summarize teaching in my life? I guess the best way to explain my teaching experience is to tell you a story. As a young girl I wanted to be a teacher. Because of my love of learning I taught all my siblings how to read. I know it is pretty funny but it is a true story. That led to my doing teaching seminars, which led to consulting, which led to training, which led to my working with individuals as a life coach. I primarily use the Socratic Method (question and answer) as my teaching style. I believe that asking students the right questions helps them to learn the information. Also, in certain instances I believe it helps the learning process if the subject matter can be related to an area of interest. I believe this can be a key component in a student's understanding of a subject.

I graduated with honors from a formal university, where I tutored fellow classmates; however, I gained most of my tutoring and teaching experience overseas, in a universal classroom. I have taught youth and adults in Mexico, Spain, Chad, Benin, Morocco and other countries. In most of those cases I was teaching English, but I also taught key aspects of health, sustainable development, lifelong skills and leadership. I taught classes ranging in size between 5 and 100. A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught for over 25 years in settings as varied as inner city schools in NYC to a small public school in Arlington Vermont, and an elite private school at Stratton Vermont. I have taught remedial, basic, bilingual and honors level classes in Biology, Chemistry, and Environmental Science in class room settings. I have tutored various sciences and math, including Pre-algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 on basic and honors levels. I have also tutored students for SAT prep in English and Chemistry. My undergraduate degree as an English major has enabled me to excell at writing research papers during my medical science career, as well as help my students with research projects and papers.
