A Little Bit About Me...

I just graduated from Miami University with a degree in Middle Childhood Education with a focus in Language Arts and Social Studies. I have had experience both tutoring individual students, a group setting, and developing students success in a classroom environment. I have been involved in Big Brothers/Big Sisters after school program in high school and have a lot of experience dealing with all types of students. I am currently subbing in Butler County school districts and looking for a future classroom teaching position. Having obtained a Communications degree from college, I was quite driven to help students who faced challenges in the areas of reading/writing. Further, I had extensive experience in Title I and Reading Labs, even on the college campus where I studied. Later, I earned my Master's degree and did research to assist me in understanding the pervasive issue of a higher incidence of language difficulties faced by these students versus that realized in Math. During the past years, I have taught high school and college English courses to students who have been identified as needing assistance in Reading and writing. I have also assisted students with other subjects, such as Algebra I, II, Problems of Democracy, high school science, etc.
