While working on my undergrad I was given the opportunity to be a teaching assistant for a freshman college level film theory and design class. During this opportunity I was responsible for grading the daily work of our students, as well as being a resource for the students design projects. I taught lectures based on film theory and design, as well as specific pieces of film.
I myself am a visual and auditory learner, so I am very open to all types of teaching styles. I find that people learn better when several avenues of learning are available for a subject. Also repetition is a very important device for making knowledge permanent. I like to bring a fun and light atmosphere to learning.

My teaching style can vary depending on what age level that I am teaching. According to Erik Erickson, there are eight stages of learning that we develop as children until we become an adult learner. So for the ages (2-7) my teaching style would be a hands- on learning approach. There would be a lot of visual aids and colorful pictures. Since children at this age learn through their senses.

I enjoy working with students and watching their growth and development academically. My approach to each student is different because I understand each will need a different approach. Initially with each student I identify his or her strengths and weaknesses with the material. I have helped others with their approach to learning for over 25 years. I tutored in several subjects in high school, and Algebra I in college. I developed several documents and training sessions during 14 years as a computer professional, and am proficient in breaking down concepts so that they are easier to understand.
