Chemistry is one of my top subjects! Currently, I am enrolled in AP Chemistry. I know general chemistry very well and many components of AP, including, but not limited to, stoichiometry, kinetics, gas laws, and thermochemistry.

My teaching style is flexible because every student learns differently. What I usually start out with is showing examples and having the student ask questions along the way. Then, I allow the student to try some problems as we work through them together.
Although I do not have much experience with regards to tutoring, I often help my fellow peers with their homework and tutor them on the things that they struggle on. I am a strong student, currently #1 in my class, with straight A's with enrollment in Advanced Placement classes. Often times, my fellow peers come to me when their teacher is not accessible and need help regarding their classes. Of course, I'm always willing to help them because I want them to succeed.

Math, Science, Writing, and Critical Thinking

During my time at Colorado College, I worked as a chemistry tutor helping my younger peers traverse the challenging General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry course loads. But because of CC's rigorous alternative schedule--where you take one class at a time, for one month each class--it's necessary to learn to pick up new concepts very quickly, I often found myself being asked for help in classes I myself was taking. I never minded this, because being forced to explain something is the best way to ensure your own understanding of the concept. That is why I try to avoid directly answering questions my students ask me, instead dropping hints and asking questions of my own that guide the student to their own answer, in their own words.

Prior to that, I graduated from a highly technical private engineering school with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. The school was on a trimester schedule so that we could finish a normal 5 year degree in only 4 years so it was a highly demanding program. Chemistry is one of my top subjects! I am applying to medical school in the summer of 2013, so I have had vast experience with many fields of chemistry. In college I have taken General Chemistry 1 and 2 with lab, Biochemistry, and Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 with lab. Experienced. Effective. The logical choice.
