I am currently teaching part time in the Mathematics department, teaching the subjects of Geometry and Algebra. I also have spent 5 years working for the Carman Ainsworth School District as an At-Risk tutor. I teach as I coach, individually and with praise. Mathematics is a language, nothing more and nothing less. I teach it as a language. Learning math as a language brings tensions down and eases the students fears and inhibitions in feeling like "they should know this", no..that is not true. I ask the question...should you know how to speak French if your not from France? No? A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated with honors from a liberal arts school with a BA in mathematics. During my time there I had also taken many science classes both biological and physical. While I was there I tutored students in math and science and ran labs for several science classes as a Laboratory Assistant. After my time there I was accepted into and began studying for a MA in mathematics at Western Michigan University where I was given an assistantship.
