I started by tutoring introduction to chemistry- college level at the University of Texas - El Paso where I attended. This was a part time student job that made me consider teaching. I then tutored chemistry, physics, and mathematics at a nearby high school. This was the preparation for the state exam (Texas) called TAKS. This introduced me to the high school level and I liked it. I went ahead and worked with the school district for one more semester before I was assigned a school for my internship/student teaching. After I graduated, I moved to Colorado (Greeley) where I worked at Northridge high school as a math teacher 2009-2010 school year.

A Little Bit About Me...

I taught middle school and high school Language and Literature for two years at a private school. During that time I also tutored in the subjects of history, math, and science. I am currently working on my Masters degree in Education and have had refresher courses in the areas of study outside of my initial degree. I love working with students and have taken courses specifically in test prep.
I am an active teacher. I want students to understand the subject in the context of their own lives as opposed to just learning definitions. If they can realate the information to an actual happening, they are more likely to remember. In terms of test preparation, aside from learning the information it is important to work on test-taking skills (relaxation, focus, etc.).
