I have always enjoyed working with children and understanding their perceptions of the given subject matter. This often results in a personal, in-depth level of conversation normally not available to most students. It has only been about five years since I was a high school student myself, and I find that it is generally very easy for me to communicate with students on a personal level, as a friend rather than from a distance as only a hired instructor. I worked as an in home private ABA therapist for two separate families, each with a child with autism. I worked individually with both children approximately 8-12 hours per week for over a year. I taught in a traditional ABA classroom with six students on the autism spectrum and all with other severe disabilities. I have also volunteered for many years as a bible school teacher.
I would have to say that my teaching style is flexibility.
