My most recent professional degree is an MFA in Creative Writing. I taught Composition Writing as an adjunct instructor for 2 years. I work as a roving substitute teacher for the Sioux Falls School district, having taught various subjects from early-childhood to High School mathematics. I teach as an online writing instructor. My main subject of expertise is in writing and English Literature as I received a BS in English while tutoring college students for the University Writing Center for 3 years. I also taught ESL to Korean High School students for 1 year overseas. I also have experience tutoring student athletes and helping them develop strong study habits. I like to tailor my curriculum to fit the particular student that I am working with. Each child learns differently and has different goals and motivations, as well as different strengths and weaknesses. Those who know me well say I have great patience. I was also raised around different cultures and languages, so I understand people and children in multicultural and multilingual situations well.
I spent a year overseas right out of high school tutoring my cousins. Later, after college, I volunteered to teach Spanish at a "homeschool" in Oregon for 3 months, then spent 6 months teaching Spanish then guitar at Lane Community College. I was assistant teacher for 2 years at a Christian preschool in Kennewick, WA.
