My comments on tutoring English ESOL : I teach according to the international methodology CELTA , but I try to find individual approach to each student to make the studying more productive for the student. I like to use different supplementary materials to make the lesson more interesting.

English ESOL is one of my top subjects! I have taught ESOL at school for nearly 30 years and worked as a tutor with all ages of students from Elementary and Middle School grade levels all the way up to college students and adults.

I tutored kids who were lagging behind the rest of the class at school as well as advanced language learners and helped them get ready for regional language contests. One of my achievements I believe is my excellent work with high school seniors to prepare for centralized testing. I have tutored in Reading for elementary students. I have also taught Psychology for over four years at two community colleges. I taught many students with diverse backgrounds. My comments on tutoring English ESOL : I am currently taking coursework to recieve a certification in TESOL.

My teaching style is student centered. I believe that in order for the student to grasp the material the lesson needs to be meaning for them. The authoritative teacher is not me. I like to be flexible making accommodations for the student so that they will have an open room to learn, because every student doesn’t learn the same way. So as a tutor I am able to recognize what seems to benefit the student.
I am currently an English major at The University of Tampa and will be graduating December of this year. My aspirations are to become an English teacher as well as a head contact for TESOL.
