My past experiences have taught me that I have an ability to motivate youth through rapport building and mutual respect. I know that touching one’s life is a huge reward to everyone involved. My goal is to help affect as many lives as I can by being the person I am with the compassion I have. When I was in college I always wanted to be involved helping shape the youth of our nation. It has been five years post-graduation and I still have the desire to continue my work with youth and adolescents. Why do I feel like that? I believe that all children learn in different ways and my teaching style is designed to accommodate these differences. While working on my bachelor's in psychology I taught for 3 years at an after school and summer science enrichment teacher and coordinator. I then decided to take my love of learning further and obtain a master's degree in teaching, therefore earning my elementary education teaching certificate. While working on my master's degree I tutored pre-k through 12th grade students in all subject areas. After graduation I received a position as a fifth grade classroom teacher in Sumter, SC.
