I was born in the Soviet Union. At age of twelve start participating in School’s orchestra. After finishing High school I was admitted to Kiev’s Glier musical College, which I finished with distinction, and get Bachelors degree as a clarinet and saxophone player, as well as conductor of brass bands. I was a teacher in musical school and a leader in numerous small jazz bands. In 1977 me and my family immigrated to United States where I continue playing In orchestras and participates in a small quartets. At this writing I am playing clarinet in two orchestras: South River Imperial Band and Brookdale College band. I also do arrangements for small groups and full orchestras.

As a student who has dabbled in so many areas, it is easy for me to assess when a teacher/professor is not explaining a concept in a method that helps the students. My commitment to tutoring as community service started in High School and continued through my years as an undergraduate at Earlham College. My teaching style could be described as fun, supportive, caring, and disciplined. By disciplined I don't mean tough, hard, or mean. Students are assigned work that they are expected to complete, although it won't be too time consuming. All work is intended to improve the student's abilities in the field that I will be tutoring them. Improvement is encouraged and positively reinforced.
I have tutored Music Theory, Aural Skills, and Music History for two and a half years at Adelphi University. My G.P.A. in Music Theory was a 3.4 and my G.P.A. for Aural Skills was a 4.0. I was recommended by the former Department Chair-Person to tutor a student with special needs. I have also taught lessons primarily for trumpet, but also for tuba, trombone, euphonium, baritone, and French horn.
