My comments on tutoring Testing Skills : I have taught 15 years of GED prep which includes testing skills.

My style is student centered. I always try to provide a positive atmosphere for learning. My jokes were a technique to help accomplish that goal. As a GED teacher I always began with a pretest and documented student progress to correct any deficiencies. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy challenges and helping students overcome what seems "impossible". Each time I teach, I become better because students teach me how to teach them. It's important to understand individual interests and how each student approaches problems because everyone is different. For example, creating analogies is an impetus to learning. To get a better idea of how I approach this style of teaching, I wrote an article: "Education for the Young Mind: The Science Behind Pogo Sticking." I received very good feedback from fellow student-pogo sticking enthusiasts regarding what they learned and how it modified their view on education.
