I tend to employ a quiet but direct approach to learning. Q and A sessions begin each session. We review the homework and past experiences of the student. I encourage students to write down their concerns and mark the areas of confusion at the time these arise. That way the students don't forget to bring them to my attention. These strategies include discussions, projects, writing assignments, etc. I also believe that enthusiasm, no matter what the subject, is the key to keeping students interested.
