I am a type of teacher who like to focus in on both what the students knows and what they don't know. After the assessment, I try to pull those two parts together so that they can effectively understand concepts in a wholistic picture. I have taught all age levels and I am very confident and competent at what I do. In addition, my substitute teaching experience has helped me get in touch with the youth and relate my experiences and knowlege of my education to others. I believe in using a multi- modality approach to teaching. The more senses involved, the more likely one will remember. I also believe in trying to make material needed to learn to seem approachable or pertinent in their lives.(No matter the age) Anyone can learn if it is presented in a way that makes it exciting and fun. You must let them give a sense of accomplishment and success.
I graduated from college with certification to teach grades 1-12. Do to the job market at that time, I was unable to get a full time teaching job. I substituted and then tutored for 2 years. I then worked various jobs working with the public. Although much of work experience is not in the teaching field, I have worked with people in many ways to reach their full potential and can relate to them on a level that they will comprehend.

I believe that all students can learn. I think that one of the cornerstones of my teaching style is having high expectations for my students. Though each student has different skills and abilities, most can be engaged to use the skills he or she brings to learn if the student knows that his or her teacher believes he or she can learn and if that teacher presents the content in an interesting way.
