I take the assumption that everyone is at the same level and gradually introduce concepts and building blocks to get to a full understanding. During introduction, I encourage students to hold their questions briefly until I have explained the method and then invite questions. At this juncture, as I answer the questions, students are welcome to raise questions in between. Practice is the best teacher, I encourage participation from students so that they can retain more information as they talk and write. My idea is to make a student who understands the concept rather than make them memorize formula without knowing the building blocks.
