My comments on tutoring Literature : My master's degree in English included coursework on literature; I have an M.A. from George Mason and a B.A. from the University of Virginia. Both English programs emphasized literary content.

My instructional experience includes over 230 credit hours of composition and language arts instruction, including creative writing, literary analysis and Shakespeare. However, most of the instruction has been focused on composition. I developed a bachelor level English course for Pearson Education, working as a writer on a team of three; the course was deployed nationally at over 100 campuses.
Interactive! Students need to apply what they have learned, to reinforce the learning cycle.

A Little Bit About Me...

I studied Languages for four years at University. I was about to get a degree in English and Portuguese when I moved to the US. I taught for one year. I worked in 3 different schools, in all of them, the subject was English. I have no experience teaching Portuguese outside of college, but I am planning to find students to change that.
