Education has always been very important to me. My life has been dedicated to the learning and teaching of music (particularly guitar). While double majoring with two very different music degrees at CSU San Bernardino I also established my own private lesson schedule where I taught classical, blues, and rock of various modern styles to my students. Currently I'm finishing up a California single subject teachers credential in music at CSU San Bernardino. I have dedicated my time over the past twelve years to community service, particularly with children and young adults. As a Model Coordinator for Pure Fashion, a Catholic-based program sponsored by Regnum Christi, I assisted in the development of seventy Pure Fashion models, ranging in age from 14 to 18, to become confident and competent leaders in their communities guided by faith and with respect for human dignity. As a classroom aide for School, Inc., I taught 4th grade students the basics of personal finance and entrepreneurship. I also developed lesson plans to correspond with teaching sessions. I enjoy seeing children discover the world around them in their own ways. Therefore, I teach the importance of working things out until you understand it for yourself. Children will meet and often surpass any goal that is given to them if you show that you believe in them. I use a hands-on approach, as much as possible, with a problem-solving emphasis. I firmly believe that a child remembers things more if he is able to work it out for himself. As a result, I take more of a mentoring position the older the child is.
