Organic Chemistry is one of my top subjects! Orgo can really throw people for a loop if they don't understand why the reactions are working the way that they do. I help my students really understand the reactions, not just memorize them. Most students who are having trouble with Orgo 2 didn't really learn their Orgo 1 basic concepts.

I obtained my Master's Degree with the intent to teach. I did teach for 3 years at a small Junior College, then moved into industry. However, even while I was working in industry, I tutored several students over the years. Several of my previous students have gone on to Pharmacy School, three have acquired their PharmD degrees. My speciality was the use of mass spectrometry to understand organic chemical reactions and the products and impurities that were formed. While working for Monsanto I also taught College chemistry classes (Organic I and II and the labs). I have over forty publications and forty presentations. I am the author of two books on Organic Analytical Chemistry. I was also honored by being appointed a Science Fellow in Monsanto.
