I believe that everyone can learn given the right motivation and explanation of a particular subject. In my tutoring experience, I have guided one person with minimal math skills through a pre-calculus course and another person with problems in addition and subtraction through an algebra course. Both of these people received grades of A in these courses. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a retired Electrical/Software Engineer. My formal education and work and life experiences provide me with a good background in math and science. I have raised three children that occasionally needed a little help with their work and have been a sports coach for various elementary level town and school teams in Fairfield.
I have three sons and have coached students in various sporting activities so I'm no stranger with working with kids. As I stated above though I don't have any professional experience and therefore it would be difficult to describe a teaching style. Given the opportunity though I will try to assist my students in learning by trying to identify and understand the child’s needs and by relating the subject material to practical applications. A method that I’ve always found more effective than just learning for learning sake.

There were approximately 14 Seniors in the class and we utilized all of the Office programs from the creation of letterheads to the writing of business correspondence to mythical persons about various subjects. Subsequently I tutored high school seniors for the Princeton Review, an SAT prep business, for about a year and a half.
