Spanish is one of my top subjects! I am continuously complimented on my Spanish skills by people with Spanish as their first language. I learned Spanish through living with a family of Mexican heritage, through my personal relationships in our local Hispanic community, 3 years of High School Spanish, working at The Latino Community Development Center, and several trips to Mexico. I have been told that I have teaching techniques for difficult Spanish pronunciations, that help the student pronunciations Spanish vocabulary with greater ease.

My experience of learning Spanish as a language began at the age of 9. I have since been utilized as an interpreter for The Department of Public Safety, The Department of Human Services, The Latino Community Development Agency,UMB Bank, by patients needing to communicate with area hospitals, to aid taxpayers with filing taxes, translating wedding vows, etc.

My comments on tutoring Spanish : I am not a native Spanish speaker, but I have been learning the language for many years, and I have a minor in it. I can help most with grammar, vocabulary,and reading.

I graduated with honors from the University of Oklahoma in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in English Literary and Cultural Studies and a minor in Spanish. I have taught ESL conversation classes for almost three years now, and I am currently pursuing a master's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (also at OU). I have helped many people with over 100 essays, and I worked as a Writing Assistant in the OU Honors College Writing Center for one year, helping students in a wide variety of classes to improve not only their individual essays but also their overall writing abilities. Spanish is one of my top subjects!

I find diffrent ways to help children understand what they are learning in a fun way.
Throw out my high school year I was in a program called “Learn and Serve”. This program consisted of going to the closest elementary school for an hour a day and be a teachers aid. Therefor, I help any student who was having difficulties. In some cases would even help teach a lesson if the only adult in the room was a sub teacher.

A Little Bit About Me...

While studying at the University of Oklahoma, I became interested in tutoring and helping those less fortunate. I began tutoring at a program called Tuesday Tutors which provides free-of-charge tutoring to all students Junior High level and above (although we often helped out Elementary students who stopped by). I also became active in ESL/Literacy tutoring. I tutored ESL for 7 months prior to graduating. I have now graduated with three Bachelor degrees and am now seeking a Master's in Philosophy. I still tutor whenever I get the chance and am currently helping an ADHD/Dyslexic student to boost his reading level.

A Little Bit About Me...

I currently have a bachelors degree in sociology with a minor in elementary education. During the past 4 years and working in the early childhood education industry I realized that many teachers were not getting the proper training that they needed to receive to help the children that they are serving. Once I realized this I decided to work on my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education in hopes that i could be an Early Childhood College Professor and teach students the ins and outs of the early childhood industry. While getting my bachelors degree I tutored in subjects such as reading,writing, math, and science as well as art.
