I taught him how to read and write he could not accomplish that on his own. He was 11 at the time and I think with kids you have to be creative to teach them and I am very creative. A Little Bit About Me...

I started teaching chess at an elementary school in 2002, and continued there until 2006. While there I gained an appreciation for the power and joy of working with youth. I graduated in 2007 with a BS in Mathematics Education, and I have been teaching in the classroom for the last two years. While in college I began tutoring mathematics, and I have now been tutoring for the last six years - I have enjoyed every moment of it!

I ask a lot of questions and try to get the students to figure out the solutions themselves. When they get stuck I give subtle hints until the light bulb goes off.
