One of the greatest joys of teaching is seeing each one of my students grow as an individual and academically.I have always wanted to be a teacher since I can remember. I wanted to give back to my students what was given to me. "A chance to to learn and grow". For me, it seemed only natural to obtain a career in the area of my first love "TEACHING". I teach because it's who I am and what I do. When I see my students getting excited about learning;I feel that same excitement as though it was me as a young child again. My teaching style consists of finding that unique style that will suit each individual student. Growing up, I noticed that it was very hard for certain students to grasp certain concepts because they were not engaged in the teaching method. It is no secret that everyone learns a certain way, and no two ways are ever the same. I believe that my patience, my calm demeanor, and habit of wanting to make learning something fun rather than a job has certainly helped me in my education. I also am a big proponent of having children set goals for themselves. Setting goals makes you work harder without feeling the pressure, and I've learned that once children reach that goal they will just want to go higher.

I have had a variety of teaching experiences since graduating from a small teacher’s college with strict requirements. I have taught geography, physical education, piano, keyboarding, and coached high school sports. Hard work and dedication led to success in my coaching career with a runner-up state title in girls’ basketball. I mention this because it shows I have a good rapport with students as I am able to motivate and set goals successfully. I also have taught all subjects in a one-room suburban school, grades 1-8. It experienced such success growing from 19 to 27 students, that we added a second teacher after the first semester. This all demonstrates the wide range of flexibility and experiences I bring to the table.
