I use several teaching styles. Whatever works for that particular student. Some students are visual. They need to see what you are talking about. Others are good listeners; they can listen and learn. Some students need to do. All students need practice and I try to provide them with plenty of practice to ensure that they have mastered the topic.

A Little Bit About Me...

My tutoring experiences have been all throughout my life helping friends and family better understand mathematics. I've tutored for pay just once, one night a week for one year. This was while I was a student at Hampden-Sydney College; I worked through the College tutoring Calculus. Recently (in the past month), I've been helping a niece who is in the fourth grade and a friend who is a freshman in high school.
I'm passionate about what I do because I've been through classes in subject matter that I struggled in or was disinterested in and I want to be able to help others feel more comfortable in math where they might be weak or unsure. In earning my bachelors of science degree at the University of South Carolina Aiken, I gained a true love for biology. I excelled in entry-level biology classes, as well as higher-level science classes such as ecology and evolution. I am also proficient in writing, English, and math.
