My comments on tutoring Physics : Received an A in a double-paced college Physics course at Richland Community College.

I am a natural teacher - it's what I do when I'm not getting paid. I just like to share knowledge of what, why, when, where, and how. I like the process of learning, and it is a privilege to get to witness, or even positively influence, that process in someone else. I have been paid for my teaching skills for the past 9 years, in various settings, including piano instruction, guitar instruction, tutoring at the Community College in Chemistry, Biology, and Microbiology, as well as assist teaching for the Decatur Public School District. I enjoy working in the educational environment.
I am a visceral teacher. I like to use illustrations whenever possible, videos, photographs, drawings... My greatest joy as a tutor and professor is to witness the "Ah-ha" moment when the light bulb comes on and the student puts the pieces together and comes to understand the topic, and, perhaps more importantly, understands the significance or ramifications of the topic in relation to other topics or disciplines. As the “Ah-ha” moments add up a student’s confidence grows. Ultimately, this confidence in learning is what I am trying to achieve. I want the student to learn and believe that there is nothing he/she can’t achieve with effort and perseverance. I believe that anyone can learn anything. I have a very friendly and gregarious approach with students. It’s my goal to help students achieve success and reach their maximum potential.
