Naturally I would set goals and objectives (Independent Educational Plan). Depending if the individual's assets or deficits (weaknesses) would determine my teaching style. It was determined by the type of approach that would benefit the individual best. Some people are visual versus audtory, or hands on learners.
As a vocational expert/counselor I have taught, trained,and tested (interest, IQ, aptitude etc) both clients and employees. I worked with average intelligence adolescents and adults. I also assisted the special education teacher at Hanover Learning Center (approximately 7 years)working with mild and moderately impaired adolescents in the classroom. I love teaching chemistry and science classes - I am very patient in teaching and attempt to relate the subject to everyday occurences. I believe that all can learn if given the opportunity and drive - people are afraid of the sciences because of the unknown - I bring the unknown to a common place. I love showing examples and bringing the laboratory portion into the class to relate to what is occuring - sometimes chemisty is fearful as it seems to be alot of math - it is but it can be used to help in other subjects.
