I have worked with elementary, high school, and college-aged students, providing instruction in subjects ranging from English to biology. I am comfortable teaching a group, but I also have ample experience working one-on-one with students. I believe that course material should engage students. When I substitute for a teacher, I want to see a lesson plan. I do not want to be the classroom babysitter. If there is no plan for the day I involve the students in making one. I'm currently working on obtaining my teaching certificate, to go along with my bachelors degree in Social Science. Hopefully, I will be able to go on to receive my Masters in Education. I have been able to tutor students in reading, sentence structure, English and American history.

I did not major in the subjects which I listed (I minored in Chemistry), but I do have experience as tutor. At Southern State, I tutored basic math and Algebra Courses to adult students who had been out of school for several years. At East Tennessee State University, I tudored freshman in the subjects of Chemisty and Physics when I was a Senior. I refreshed my skills in Chemistry last year when my daughter enrolled in an online AP Chemistry class.
