In 2001 I completed my Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. Because I enjoy and love working with children I decided to go back to school and work on my Bachelor degree in Elementary Education. I completed my bachelor degree in August 2009. At Duke I tutored during each of my four years, either biweekly at a local Durham elementary school or at the Emily K Family Life Center. It is there where I tutored once weekly as a senior, up until I graduated in May. I have tutored in all subjects and all ages up through 22.
When I approach a student I've never worked with, my first priority is to make them feel comfortable by letting them see that I am a very nice, friendly, and compassionate person that they might like to have as a friend.
