A Little Bit About Me...

When I entered Northwester College, I had the intention of pursuing a degree in Engineering; however, I quickly developed a passion for mathematics. After finishing my B.S., I moved out to Bozeman, MT to work on a Masters in pure mathematics. While in the graduate program I was privileged to teach one class per semester with full responsibilities. At the same time, I weekly assisted with tutoring at the Math Learning Center. Over the last two years, as my understanding of mathematics has increased so has my capacity to explain difficult concepts. With my broad knowledge of the field I can bring a lot of prospective to assist in understanding. Additionally, I have found that in the classroom and one-to-one, my passion for math has been a great aid in drawing interest from students.

I have always had the desire to become a teacher. I realize that every person is different in how they learn and sometimes you have to be creative in how you teach. I am very patient and laid back and I understand that frustration from the student often occurs when learning something new. This is why it is important to have someone there to help them ease those frustrations so that they can continue to learn. This is my goal when I help out others.
Growing up I always had a love for math and science. This drew me into the field of engineering. While earning a degree in Electrical Engineering from Notre Dame much of my time was spent in study groups and helping others understand areas they had trouble with.

A Little Bit About Me...

I really enjoy interacting with students; when I am working with students, I like to teach in a way that allows the student to participate and provide contributions. Having been a student myself, I find that I learn best when the learning experience is interactive, which is why I try to involve the students as much as possible in a lecture or lab. I also try to provide feedback to queries promptly. During my time as a student, I always appreciated when I was provided feedback on assignments or to questions quickly and therefore I try to do the same. Finally, I try to teach lessons in a way that the material is relevant and familiar to the students in order to make learning process easier for them.
