I enjoy watching others learn and come to the realization that they can achieve their goals. My teaching/tutoring style is relaxed and pro-active. The more the student discovers on their own with only a little coaching and encouragement will last longer than if someone shows every step. I believe in a practical hands one real world method. Over the past three years, I have tutored more than 40 undergraduate students in various capacities. Not surprisingly, my teaching style has varied quite a bit depending on my audience. Getting students to focus and engaging them in conversations that would get them interested in this subject has been the key. Dissecting a problem down to basic concepts and then explaining it in a simplified fashion has been my style and that has helped my students quite a bit. Very specifically, I usually spend first five minutes understanding student’s issues with a particular chapter or problem. Subsequently, I follow up on that with simple examples that explain these concepts which help students to grasp the concept easily.
