Patient, charismatic, unique, outside-the-box teaching style

As a Sales & C.S. In high school I helped tutor younger children. My freshmen year of college I volunteered as a tutor at Ely Chapman. I am currently a teaching assistant for an Anatomy lab. I have 2 Years of teaching First Aid/ CPR/ AED at the American Red Cross. I also have 1 quarter of tutoring physics at Washington State Community College. I also instruct Pet CPR/First Aid for the American Red Cross. This is especially fulfilling when watching children learn that there is something they can do to help save their injured or sick pet. Though, it has taken me many years to complete my degree, I believe this proves that persistance and perseverance pays off in the end, and that one is never too old to learn. Over the past three years, I have tutored more than 40 undergraduate students in various capacities. Not surprisingly, my teaching style has varied quite a bit depending on my audience. Getting students to focus and engaging them in conversations that would get them interested in this subject has been the key. Dissecting a problem down to basic concepts and then explaining it in a simplified fashion has been my style and that has helped my students quite a bit. Very specifically, I usually spend first five minutes understanding student’s issues with a particular chapter or problem. Subsequently, I follow up on that with simple examples that explain these concepts which help students to grasp the concept easily.
